Models are starting to ditch OnlyFans for ‘classy’ new Playboy alternative

Since shutting down its print magazine, Playboy has moved into the digital space with its own creator-led platform – and many are starting to use it in favour of OnlyFans

It seems like most models are earning extra cash from racy site OnlyFans these days.

However, it's claimed many models and influencers, especially in Australia, are now ditching the site for a 'classier' alternative.

Since shutting down its print magazine, Playboy has moved into the digital space with its own creator-led platform on Playboy.com.

A number of big models have already joined it – including former Playboy cover girl Gabby Epstein, Bachelor In Paradise star Megan Marx and 'the world's hottest grandma' Gina Stewart.

Playboy's app only allows nudity, just like its classic magazine. This differs from OnlyFans, which allows creators to share explicit content including hardcore porn.

Another major difference to the new Playboy platform is creators must be accepted to join, whereas anybody can sign up for an OnlyFans account.

This is probably so that Playboy can offer subscribers 'higher quality' creators who live up to the ideals of the iconic brand.

Apart from those points, many of the features on Playboy and OnlyFans are the same, with subscribers able to send their favourite creators direct messages and extra money in tips.

Bachelor star Megan Marx joined Playboy last week, as she offered subscribers professionally shot topless images that she was unable to share on her Instagram account.

The 32-year-old, who is known for growing up in a strict religious cult, said Playboy's dedication to sexual freedom that inspired her to join the site.

Meanwhile, 'world's hottest gran', Gina Stewart, 52, said she was impressed by Playboy's 'iconic status' and the brand's classier image compared to more explicit platforms.

The Playboy app previously launched back in 2021 under the name Centerfold – with rapper Cardi B being both a founding member and creative director of the app.

It is now unclear if the WAP star is still affiliated with the brand, but Centerfold was recently quietly relaunched as Playboy.com.

Other influencers currently using the site are Kylie Jenner's former bff Jordyn Woods, Twitch streamer Amouranth, social media star Amanda Cerny, and TV personality Amber Rose.

Former porn stars Mia Khalifa and Lana Rhoades are also using the site.

Playboy's expansion comes as OnlyFans has become increasingly more controversial and explicit.

Many creators who signed up for the platform end up progressing from doing lingerie photos to hardcore porn on the site in order to keep their subscribers paying.

This has led to some quitting, such as American model and reality star and Black Chyna, who recently ditched the app.

Talking about her decision, she told The Jason Lee Show that she wanted to 'change' her image.

"All that stuff is a dead end and I know that I’m way — I’m worth way more than that," she said.

"I feel like I have bigger fish to fry."

She added: "Shout out to the people that do still have their OnlyFans and stuff like that. Get your money, don’t let the money make you."
